The Nordic warriors known as Totem are masters of storytelling; wizened sages telling of days long gone, of battles fought and won and of bravery and camaraderie. They are viking metal at its finest and most brutal with heavy war drum beats and syncopated guitar hooks.

 

Punishing and brutal with lyrics reminiscent of an age old viking saga, Totem reflects upon a warrior's life with styling similar to the bands Einherjer, Iced Earth, Amon Amarth and classic Manowar.

Creation: Music that makes your blood boil and stirs your soul to battle. That is what I sought to create with Totem - a viking fury with heavy drum focused songs. The name Totem was completely random, the band was almost named Ragnarok... but that seemed a little too 'on the nose'.
